Miracle FX BPM Calculator
What it doesCalculates delay times, note divisions, and frequency equivalents from any BPM. Essential for syncing delays, LFOs, reverb pre-delays, and sidechain timing to your project tempo.
Tempo ReferenceShows the classical Italian tempo marking and genre context for the current BPM. D&B at 170 BPM reads as Presto — which is accurate, technically.
Half / Double timeDisplayed at the bottom of the Tempo Reference panel. Half time is useful for D&B production — a 174 BPM project with 87 BPM feel in the arrangement.
Tap Tempo
TAP buttonClick or tap repeatedly in time with your music. The tool averages the last 8 taps for stability. Resets automatically after 3 seconds of inactivity.
Nudge buttons−1, −½, +½, +1 adjust the detected BPM for fine-tuning. Useful when tap tempo gives you 173.8 and you know the track is 174.
BPM inputType a value directly. Press Enter or click away to apply. Accepts values from 20 to 300 BPM.
ResetClears the tap history. Start fresh without waiting for the auto-reset.
Delay Times Table
Columns
msStraight note value in milliseconds. Enter this into your delay plugin's time field for tempo-sync without BPM link.
Dotted ms1.5× the straight value. A dotted quarter note = quarter + eighth. Creates the classic U2 / dub delay feel.
Triplet ms⅔ of the straight value. Three triplet notes fit in the space of two straight notes. Essential for swing and shuffle patterns.
HzThe frequency equivalent of the note division — use this to set LFO rates, sidechain frequency, or rhythmic filter modulation in Hz-based synths.
D&B Context
1/8 Note at 174 BPM172ms — the fundamental delay increment for breakbeat production. The classic Reese bass movement is often a dotted 16th at 172ms = 258ms.
